How to Handle Academic Misconduct Cases

Please follow the Academic Misconduct Cases Packet Submission Guidelines when submitting a case to the Dean’s office for review.

Submissions should be sent or delivered in hard copy to the relevant divisional associate dean. Faculty should not confront or accuse students but rather refer them to the Dean’s office for additional information.

Cases submitted late in the semester often mean a final grade cannot yet be calculated. The Dean’s office continues resolving cases well into the summer. Faculty with unresolved cases should assign the student an incomplete until they receive further direction from the Dean’s office.
