Applications Open for Service-Learning Fellowship

Interested in creating meaningful service-learning opportunities? The Faculty Fellows in Service-Learning Program is a one-year fellowship designed to help faculty create learning experiences that promote citizenship, social responsibility, and community engagement. Sponsored by the Center for Ethics and Social Responsibility, the program aims to integrate the philosophy, pedagogy, and process of service learning into the UA academic environment.

Faculty fellows will participate in three workshops per semester, each focusing on an aspect of service-learning pedagogy. They will also receive a $1500 enhancement grant and one-on-one assistance to design a new service-learning course (or modify an existing one).

The program is open to all faculty involved in undergraduate teaching. Interested faculty should complete the application and submit all supporting documents by March 29, 2018. For more information, contact Megan Bailey at (205) 348-1691 or megan.bailey@ua.edu.
